Early life of her parents; father's conversion to Mormonism about 1832; experiences in Jackson County, Missouri; Elvira's baptism into the LDS Church, 1833; marriage to John Carson, 1841; experiences in Illinois; saw mantle of the Propher (Joseph Smith) on Brigham Young; exodus west; arrival in Salt Lake Valley, 1851; settlement in Little Cottonwood, Utah; removal to Fairfield, Utah; experiences with Johnston's army.
